So this weekend gone, the car ticked over to 180,000kms
So to give her a gift, i put in a new fuel filter. That means for the 180,00k mark she has coolant flush and replacement, oil flush and new oil and oil filter, Auto box service, diff fluid service
Now i need to find an app that tells me what to do and when to do it. Given the car is starting to get older, it is time i should give her more attention to proper maintenance.
Things still to be done
Front sway bar links and bushes (polyeurethane upgrade) (i will probably do the rears later)
Rear servo Gasket to be swapped
Oil Switch to be swapped (my oil pressure goes up and down for no real reason, i am told this is the problem)
I believe the oil leak is gone, but there is water leaking from the water pump gasket, looks like a slow leak, that made the tensioner belt leak look worse than it was
I have also found a whine in the motor is coming from the AC compressor. Not a major complaint, but still there
Lots to do, still love taking her out, i took the boys to slot car racing out at penrith on sunday

I Purchase my XR6 falcon in 2003, In the time i have had it, it has been the family car, the prestige dream car, The Tow car for go karts and the rust collector. I have since decided to join a car club, and spend my time bringing the car back to a good condition. I will explain things that have happened, how i have fixed them (or tried to fix them). I will blog about new adventures with the club and the family. It has been a reliable Donkey, and it deserves my love and respect.

Fathers day weekend - WOW
OK, so i will put this blunt. This weekend was one of the best weekends i have had in a very very long time.
It started on saturday morning, cruising to the track with my buddy to watch the muscle car masters.
Then at the track i got to meet the great man Fred Gibson, i spent 10 minutes chatting with him about all things motorsport. I didnt bother him for an autograph, signature or a photo, the fact he was ok to chat with me was enough for me.
Then i watched some EPIC cars from the Group A era and Group N cars. I was impressed with the speed and campact size of the 12A rotary in the RX2.
So it pelted down, so i decided to go home just after lunch and start playing with my car.
Finally after 190,000 kms i did a filter/fluid change on the Auto box. In this i tried to tighten up the feed lines as that seems to be the source of fluid leaks. hopefully i have sorted this, but if not, when the radiator is replaced i will re-do the lines with proper thread seal. One thing i noticed was for 190,000 the fluid wasnt too bad, there was no bands or metal chunks in the pan (as i had read about with other autos. So i was pleased to replace the filter and fluid and know that this auto box is still in working order.
Then on sunday after an epic breakfast i started on the LSD changing the fluid and topped up the auto fluid
A great weekend fiddling with the car, motor racing and meeting my hero. On top of that, my family took car of me with great meals and wonderful gifts for fathers day.
I know i am very lucky to have a wife that lets me enjoy these things. I hope all the other fathers had a great weekend too.
Cheers
